1. As the seller, make sure you let the buyers know that they are already your customer. You have already given them part of the product – the critical information they need to buy.
  2. For some businesses, you can take a deposit and apply it to the cost of the product or service. Granted, this is a little more acceptable for plumbers and electricians, but some retail establishments may also be able to take a deposit.
  3. Work with your vendors to secure certain products or models are available only through their authorized dealers and not through online retailers. If they won’t agree find other vendors who will.
  4. Provide a certificate of authenticity to back up your product and services and point out these are not available from other retailers.
  5. Add levels of service or maintenance to the product for follow up after the purchase.
